Question: How does a Swiss Rules Tournament work?

Answer:
In a Swiss tournament players take turns playing each other, like in a Round Robin tournament. The number of rounds is one less than the number of players. Each player receives 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. The winner is the player with the highest score at the end of the last round. The tournament may end early once every player has incurred at least one loss. If, at this point, a single player has the highest score then the tournament ends. Otherwise, the TD may choose to declare a champion from among the high scoring players or choose to continue with the next round.
